Cabin Fever Day 5

My poor sick little man is in the thick of his cold. I feel terrible because he is so miserable most of the time. As you can see his eyes and noise are red and swollen. We've got round the clock meds and humidifier going to help relieve as much as we can of his discomfort. And I thought teething was bad! By the way, we think he is teething on top of all this...fun times:) Needless to say, we are a fountain of many fluids right now. Our diet consists only of puffy snacks, bottles, and an occasional yogurt. Please go away ugly cold!

  1. Poor little guy! Poor mama, too. Things that help us when the kids have colds are:
    • sitting in a steamy shower together
    • Vicks for babies (put it on his feet with socks over it...sounds weird but it sometimes helps)
    • saline nasal spray
    • popsicles (they make "slow melt" popsicles with more gelatin in them...awesome)
    • avoid dairy if you can, and go for jell-o
    • make sure if he starts to run a fever to take him in to the doc so you can rule out an ear or sinus infection
