Mamma

My sweet husband sent me and my best girlfriend Jennifer to Vegas for a two day mini-break (my first time away from Chris). We had so much fun! Massages and Pedicures day 1. Shopping, Shopping, and more Shopping Day 2. And, wonderful food of course! My mom came to visit the day before we left and is visiting until tomorrow. Needless to say, Christopher has been getting lots of extra love from his Nanna. While I was gone he said "Mamma" for the first time:) He now mostly says it when he wakes up in the morning waiting for me to come start the day with him. Every time I hear him say it, it fills my heart with joy. And, as you can see from the pic down below, he has rediscovered his tongue!

The Saga Continues...

As if colic and acid reflux wasn't enough, our poor little guy now has to wear a helmet for at least 2 months! Although we think his head is perfect the way it is, it appears that his width vs. length ration is a bit off causing his ears to push forward and potentially result in jaw/speech issues. All this they equate to the "back to back" campaign all new parents are preached now in order to reduce the risk of SIDS. We are waiting to see if our insurance will help with the cost of helmet, so for now we are enjoying and taking as many pics of our baby boy sans helmet.

5 Months

The many smiles of Christopher...He now smiles and giggles all the time, each time melting my heart. He wants to crawl so badly, but is so impatient and usually ends up throwing a fit. Poor little guy is having a heck of a time with teething. I keep longing to see at least one tooth breaking through to justify all this pain. For all the pain though, he still manages everyday to give mama & papa a big gummy smile:)

Visiting Bonnie

Our poor dear neighbor has been suffering from stage 4 cancer this past year. Whenever we get a chance, we enjoy our visits with Bonnie. Christopher loves lying next to her and chomping away at her fingers. We cherish every day we get with this amazing woman!

Fast Friends

Yesterday, Christopher and I had a great time at lunch with friends Amy Arthun, her 8-month-old daughter Paige, and Susie Mueller. Amy was the producer and Susie is still the designer for "Hammer Heads", the HGTV show I worked on just before Christopher was born. Paige and Christopher held hands on their first encounter...could it be love at first sight??? She is a cutie pie!

After a Bowl of Cereal...

Christopher is now eating a tablespoon of rice cereal in 5 ounces of formula every night. He gets so excited when the spoon is approaching his mouth, I can't seem to feed him fast enough! Last night marked the first night I let the little guy cry it out when he woke in the middle of the night, a bad habit he developed from me giving into him when he had his ear infection and early teething. This round was 40 minutes. He sure pulled out all the dramatics, coughing bits and all! I have to admit instead of feeling bad, it was rather amusing to watch his attempts to lure me in. Poor baby boy! I hope tonight's round is shorter!
